The proper strength and stabilization of the pelvic floor and the core help to create the correct foundation of each movement in the body. A large portion of our population is impacted by some type of pelvic floor and/or core dysfunction causing issues such as: pelvic and low back pain, hip or groin issues, discomfort with intercourse, frequent urination, and the dreaded laughter/sneeze leak. This workshop incorporates breathwork and meditation into a focused and informed practice with pelvic floor and core exercises, and hip stretching and strengthening. Open to all. 2 Hour Workshop
Our autonomic nervous system evolved to keep us safe. And it is always at work, scanning for danger signals and safety cues, all without our conscious control. If our inner alarm is constantly firing, we may find ourselves in a chronic stress response. Yoga practices and philosophies are a beneficial way of helping regulate the nervous system’s response. In this 90 minute asana practice, we will begin to develop compassion on and off the mat by learning to regulate our own systems so instead of reacting from a place of fear we can move from the heart and a space of compassion. Breath work and meditation are incorporated into this practice as well as Hindu mythology, The Yoga Sutras, and the first Yama, Ahimsa (non-harming). Gentle practice open to all levels.
